23,2004......At the ripe old age of 95....She outlived my grandpa by 10 years....Grandma was all about GOD...COUNTRY...FAMILY...THE BIBLE...MAKE YOUR WORD YOUR
BOND....That type of thing...IF she told you a piss ant would pull a Mack Truck...YOU BETTER HITCH HIS ASS UP....Taught Sunday School...Was Very well thought
of in the community...as were/are her Children...She bore nine kids by a Rake and Rambling man...who only pissed off a MILLION DOLLAR EMPIRE...( Five Farms and
a Gravel Pit in the 30"s...One farm alone appraised for 775,000 dollars in 1977....and he ended up working on an assembly line at a factory...He NEVER
understood the CONCEPT of Money...Of course most people who are HUNG like Shetland ponies...Well The Old saying..Is God puts it all in one place...Either
between your ears or between your legs...He got the later...And her only weakness was LOVING this outlaw...You know Waylon always said.."LADIES LOVE
OUTLAWS LIKE BABIES LOVE STRAY DOGS"...and love him she did until he died in December 1, 1996 after a 2nd open heart surgery....
I tell/post these stories for everyone's amusement/entertainment because Hell...I talk to you cats everyday...and while hearing stories about this 19 year old punk who wouldn't quit playing a video game...and came down a hit his mother then threw food in her face...or these kids who aren't even out of primary school who are kicking, cussing and hitting their parents and society wants to blame it on EVERYTHING ELSE..but where the problem lies...AT HOME... I tell these stories to make you guys laugh...and they are funny...but in reality...Grandma had a TOUGH TIME...A ROUGH TIME...No welfare, No handouts..She didn't even know how to drive a car...But she TAUGHT her kids to work...How to be responsible..and RESPECT....They all worked and grew what they ate...and come winter time...They slaughtered a beef or beefs or hogs...and canned foods during the summer to get them through the winter...Her gardens were so big...They picked purple hull peas in 9 FOOT COTTON SACKS...You know who many peas it would take to fill up a NINE FOOT COTTON SACK?...That is one reason today...My daddy says..SCREW A GARDEN...I will NEVER WORK IN A GARDEN...I don't care if tomatoes go to 20 dollars a bushel...I'll just worry if I got the 20 bucks or not... She was an educated woman who read CONSTANTLY....Her living room and the chair she sat in...the shelves were SURROUNDED by books...and she read them all cover to cover....But she was a TOUGH OLD BIRD...She ruled the roost...And her kids respected/feared her...whatever you want to call it...All I know is...She was from a DIFFERENT era...A DIFFERENT TIME.....She hit problems HEAD ON...And if a smart ass kid or a contrary hound dog/milk cow or whatever bucked her...Then they FELT her wrath too...SHE WAS TOUGH AND DETERMINED...And a fighter in more ways than one...Like she told me one time when I was having some problems...BABY...GET UP AND HIT THEM HEAD ON...YOU CAN" SIT DOWN AND CRY ABOUT IT... BECAUSE IF YOU DO...YOU WILL DROWN IN THE MUD PUDDLE"... Now she might have been my Grandma...But people LIKE THAT are what made
this country strong...there aren't many left...
