Could be - although I think with this and some other types, it may just be that more are being correctly diagnosed. In my aunt's case, she had so many other health problems that it was almost 'luck' (if you can call it that), that they found the tumor before she died. has brain cancer, had 3 brain surgeries in the last year and is due to go any minute. Very agressive. By the way Blackie, I'm a Matt too.

My aunt was diagnosed with it and was too sick to stand the surgery - she lasted less than a month. The pain took its toll on her to the point where her children couldn't bear to bring their kids to the hospital to see their grandmother - she wasn't herself any more.

Awful disease for all involved...

My grandmother was diagnosed with it when she was in her early nineties. She had suffered through the pain for a few months without letting any of us know. Finally it got to a point where she had to go to the hospital in early December. But she was a very strong-willed person and willed herself out of that hospital to host one more Christmas dinner. She was never an especially affectionate person, but she hugged each of us for the longest time that day before we left. She died less than...

At the end, my Grandfather was delusional from either the pain or the pain meds. He walked up and down the hospital corridor looking for something familiar. He didn't know who most of us were, including my mom (his only daughter). He recognized me at times. He kept asking "Matt, when is this plane going to land?" and "Can you help me find my red bedroom?" It was horrific to be anywhere near that process with a loved one... I cannot imagine being the one going...

Stage IV is essentially untreatable. Mortality rate is 80% within the first year, likely much less.

Would not wish this one anyone. It's a quick death sentence.
